Perma Air Inflatable Rail Shelter is perfect for sealing a rail car on difficult applications that a mechanical rail shelter can't handle or was not designed for, like oversized door openings or where extra projection is needed. Because of it's unique design and light weight it is perfect for all applications. The Perma Air Inflatable Rail Shelter works by inflating using a 110 volt 1/2 horse blower motor that blows air into the baffeled unit and extends the shelter until it makes contact with the rail car making a perfect seal. Once the rail car is loaded or unloaded and the rail dock removed the blower is switched off and the unit deflates with help from shock cords that pull the unit back agianst the wall. The shock cords are then stretched across the unit face to secure it. The air shelter can also be equipped with angle brackets or attached to the bottom of a metal hood for added support.
